The baby, Freddie
, now 21 months old, was born healthy
but mum Corinne Card
said she never intended to give birth all alone.
"Looking back, it was a very strange experience and I was incredibly lucky that nothing went wrong," explains Card.
"It was a straightforward birth and it was easy, too, in the sense that I didn't have to go to hospital and deal with the kinds of procedures and rules I'd gone through with my two other children."
Card said her book is intended to help parents deal with the surprise situations and modern dilemmas all parents are facing in the digital age.
"Parenting has changed radically in the decades since us parents were kids," she explained.
"I wanted to delve into the strategies and opportunities available that weren't around when our mums and dads were caring for us as little ones.
"I looked at the latest parenting advice from people including economics professor Emily Oster and social psychologist Adam Galinsky, as well as the latest tech we can use to make our lives as parents easier, to provide an A-Z of snippets of advice for new parents."
In the book, Card also explains her reasoning for returning to work a mere four days after giving birth in the bath.
"I know that kind of timeline isn't for everyone."
"But it happened to work for me."
