The campaign attracted
294 likes and shares of #YellowRose
posts on social media, 81 new followers, 23 sign ups to the Impetus e-newsletter, 10 new volunteer sign ups and £350 in fundraising.
The yellow rose symbolises friendship and the campaign launch coincided with the UN International Day of Friendship on 30th July.
On that day and throughout August, the campaign was promoted at events such as Pride Community Day and Brunswick Festival and on social media.
Although Brighton & Hove is known for its vibrancy, tolerance and spirit of inclusion, the city has one of the highest rates of loneliness in the UK which is why the contribution of Impetus is so vital in the community.
"We're delighted with the impact of our Yellow Rose campaign," says Jo Ivens, Impetus Chief Executive Officer.
"I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported us and who came to say hi at our stalls at community events throughout the city during August.
"I'm particularly happy that the activity helped us connect with 10 new volunteers. Volunteers are crucial to everything that we do at Impetus.
"Each volunteer receives training and ongoing support from our staff so they can help people with specific needs have more independent and fulfilling lives.
"Isolation and loneliness continue to be very real issues affecting many in Brighton & Hove."
